I have spent many years with this little problem I am a big woman. Yah! But...I have small breasts. No big deal just a Cup A size, A for awesomeness *cough* .... *sigh* .... but supposedly big women all have big breasts, the smallest size available is Cup B! So called normal sized women can have an assortment starting from A to D at least. I was told there was a specialized bra store in the Netherlands for women with difficult problems but I don't know the store's name...
Can someone help me or advise me on where to find some nice Cup A sizes for Plus size women. I have nice small perky breasts but I'd love to have a nice sexy bra.
I just got emailed from my usual store from the Netherlands, Ulla Popken and I quote: "The A cup in large sizes is almost never, so here is no demand and therefore these not offered, nor in the future. "
A chill came over me. How can this be? I can't be the only person with small breasts in Europe? Shite!
I would prefer to buy a bra in Europe due to the ridiculous Custom's tax applied to any item purchased outside of Europe. This ridiculous fee will almost double the price of the bra. Another thing which needs changing in this stupid European Union!
H&M? of uhm....
Look on Canadian or American websites, since us Canadians all have a huge variety of boobage from all of the influences.
I recently found out, I should be a C cup and all this time I was stuffing myself in to an A or B and was just making up for it with a bigger band size. Which btw... make me feel like a new women. I have always thought I had small boobs and apparently no... i just had a very altered image of myself. But beyond the point, I am supposed to be a 32 C but that doesn't exist with basically every bra company i have looked at because you cant have the reverse issue as you. Can't have a tiny ribcage and bigger boobs apparently.
I've found perfects bras that aren't wide enough. My local (wonderful wonderful) bra shop suggested I buy a bra band extender. They come in many different colors, sizes and shapes and perfect for us fuller sized women.
(Oh I've also know people who make bra band extenders out of old bras. )
a lot of higher end lingerie boutiques (shops that sell only lingerie) will actually measure you up and make a perfectly fitting bra for you in any of the styles they are selling. perhaps that would be the best way to go about it because you can really get something very nice and perfectly fitting, for a slightly higher price than just generic nice lingerie in department stores
I just saw you live in Netherlands so I really don't know the shops there, but here (in UK) most towns have lingerie-only shops, and there, the ladies always encourage you (at least here they do) to get measured up so that they actually make you a bra that is a perfect fit. it takes a week or so to get it made, but it's like any other lingerie shop, you choose the style you like but if none in the shop fit well enough, they'll do this service for you, and the price is the same. did you try to ask in such shops? they would have to be lingerie-only and usually the stuff costs a bit more (like 40 - 80 euros for a set of bra and knickers, that kind of price range, but the stuff is beautiful and great quality)
OMG! What luxury! That sounds awesome. I need to go with my fiancee so he can speak to them in Dutch and see if they can also make me a bra for my size if they don't have any in the store which I doubt seeing specialized plus store sizes don't sell any in my cup size. If all else fails, I need to take a trip to the UK.
I am sure you'll find they offer the same services, because considering crappy customer service UK is known for, I would be absolutely shocked if we were actually better than Netherlands in this respect
From earnestly searching in many specialized lingerie stores in many cities, I discovered none have a service where you can get measured to get tailor made bras and discovered something shocking at the store I went to. Smaller ribcage sizes with C Cup as the smallest size. It really depends on the brand, I guess and well...I guess Dutch girls/women have been endowed with large breasts....*frown*
But the last store I went to, the saleswoman gave me the address of a store that even sell AA cup bras so I am giving that a look in a few months seeing it is far from where I live.
And in I do pity people in UK with the crappy customer support. I had horrors while working at Europcar. I could not believe the things going on in the UK, Portugal was far better and Potugal sucks compared to Australia (where I am from).
have you checked wehkamp.nl? I filtered the bra collection they have to cup size A, and some of those have sizes 80 and 85. Some even have size 90. Here a link to the page filtered to cup A (though I'm not sure if it'll open on that page for you immediately) [link]
I was told that too when I went to a Lane Bryant store... I ended up with a DD size cup bra. The cup was so big that I could have stuffed a whole roll of tissue in each side XD On the plus side, the band on the sides was nice and wide which got rid of the horrible 'rolls'. LOL
But yeah, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I think it would work better for the smaller cup sizes than the larger ones. -shrugs-
The problem is when I find something that fits around my ribcage the cup sizes are too big. I can't go up, I need down. It's so frustrating I even wrote an email to a specialized plus size store here in the Netherlands but I highly doubt they'll make a smaller cup size. I just wish I could find a plus size store that caters my size but with a smaller breast support. It's ridiculous to even think of going braless again and I want a proper bra without extensions around my ribcage.
I got this really nice bra, so small and tight around my ribcage with the perfect A cup. If only losing weight were simple, then I wouldn't be in this situation...if...if...I gotta start looking for the perfect bra at least for my wedding day.
Not that I'm staring at your chest or anything, lol but the newest picture you just posted, they look quite perfect. I envy for smaller! hehe I hope you will be able to find a better size from your posting.
Stare all you like I don't mind. I have finally learned to accept my body the way it is. The easiest solution would be to lose weight and not depend on ridiculous plus sizes...easier said than done. Hahaha! I tried but I gained weight again on my birthday... poo 5 kilos heavier. I am like a yoyo. I am stuck at this point.
Hopefully I will find something and thanks for these comments I am getting closer to finding one...pity I have to look outside the Netherlands for now Still there is hope
